The D1GP arcade is a drift racing game which reproduces the drift championship D1 grand prix series.
It is unlike many other racers, as the focus is not on the ranking and speed of the player, but rather how many drift points a player can acquire.
Drift points are accumulated throughout the race, and the player that acquires the most drift points wins the race. To drift, players must be traveling at a certain speed, ease off the accelerator and turn the steering wheel, and then hit the accelerator again.
Alternatively players can turn the steering wheel, and then hit the emergency brake. The car will begin to slide on its side, or drift, and points will be accumulated. Points are dependent on the drift duration, drift angle and corner velocity of approach.
