Some fish in the Mermaid Fantasy Arcade Game come with features that reward the players who catch them, creating a greater element of challenge for players to enjoy. These include:
- King Fish - The King Fish is coloured dark red to stand out, and when players catch this fish it will automatically catch all the fish of the same species currently on the screen, and award the points to the player.
- Bomb Crab - The Bomb Crab will explode when caught, awarding all the points from fish caught in the explosion to the player.
- Drill Crab - The Drill Crab will award the player who catches it with a drill weapon. Players simply point and shoot the weapon, which will damge and/or catch fish as it ricochets around the screen.
- Laser Crab - The Laser Crab awards the player who catches it with a single laser beam shot weapon, which will take out most fish that are hit by the beam and will award all points to the player.
- Lightning Chain - A fish feature that when caught will start a lightning chain, where various kinds of fish can be caught in the chain. All points from fish caught in the chain will be awarded to the player.
- Golden Treasure Shark - The Golden Treasure Shark is a bigger version of the Golden Shark, but it is shackled with a treasure chest. Players must catch 5 of these Golden Treasure Sharks to earn the big bonus.
The Mermaid Fantasy Arcade Game is available as an Upgrade Kit, a 6 player 32” arcade cabinet, 6 player 58” arcade cabinet, 8 player 58” arcade cabinet, and a 10 player arcade cabinet with two 58” monitors.
