Police have finished their investigation of the crime scene at Queensland fun park Dreamworld almost two weeks after a ride malfunctioned and killed four people.

A number of media outlets were reporting on Monday afternoon that police have handed the site back to Dreamworld, located on the Gold Coast, Australia.

However, it is not been revealed when the Dreamworld fun park will re-open.

A message reading: “Dreamworld is currently closed until further notice due to an incident at the park. We are deeply saddened by the incident; our hearts and thoughts go out to the families involved and their loved ones.”

While the site has now handed the site back to Dreamworld, police are continuing to investigate the incident ahead of a report being handed to the coroner.

Siblings Luke Dorsett and Kate Goodchild died alongside Mr Dorsett's partner Roozi Araghi and another woman, Cindy Low, when their raft flipped on the Thunder River Rapids ride on October 25.

The Goodchild siblings were farewelled by hundreds of mourners at a funeral in Canberra on November 11.
