Square Enix Annouced Arcade Version of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy in Development
Square Enix announced an arcade version of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is in development during its Dissidia Final Fantasy Niconico live stream on February 3rd.

The live stream was meant to only reveal the first footage of Final Fantasy Tactics‘ Ramza in Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade, but viewers definitely got more than they bargained for with the announcement of a second arcade version game.

The producer on the arcade version is Ichiro Hazama, who also produced the 3DS version as well as Dissidia Final Fantasy for arcade.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a rhythm video game, developed by indieszero and published by Square Enix for Nintendo 3DS and iOS. Based on the Final Fantasy video game franchise, the game involves using the touch screen in time to various pieces of music from the series. The game was released in Japan in February 2012, and in North America, Australia and Europe in July 2012, with an iOS version was released in December 2012.

A teaser website for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Arcade will be opened next week.

For anyone interested, here is the video trailer introduction for Ramza Beoulve:

Square Enix has also given fans a sneak-peek, behind-the-scenes video looking at how the music for Dissidia Final Fantasy was created (HINT: it was recorded in Abbey Road Recording Studio in London!), which you can watch below:
