About the Association
BACTA is the voice of the British amusement industry. The trade association was founded in 1974 and represents the interests of the coin-operated amusement
industry to national government, regulators and local authorities. Its remit covers all
types of machines, both gambling and amusement only, including AWPs (fruit
machines), club/jackpot machines, SWPs (quiz machines), video games, pinball, pool
tables, kiddy rides, novelties and juke boxes. BACTA represents all parts of the
industry throughout England, Scotland and Wales through its four sectors.
- Family amusements - mostly seaside operators.
- Machine suppliers - largest market in public houses.
- Amusement centres - mostly inland operators.
- Manufacturers and Distributors.
