A adventure styled pinball, that not only requires, pinball skills but a quick decisive mind and a bit of luck. Catacomb's require the player at certain points in the game to make decisions. That affect the rest of the game, a simulated voice asks questions like what numbers do you pick?, what colors do you chose? The players answers with the flippers.

Action takes place on the black glass as well as the playfield, with drop targets, spinners, bonus multipliers and multi-ball. The points and bonuses attained can depends on the decisions the player makes and hitting the right color targets.
