Dead or Alive ++ (Plus Plus) Arcade Machine is an updated version of Dead or Alive. It includes new characters, improved graphics, and unlockable costumes. The updated version also features remixed stage designs.

This is a normal 3-D fighting game where players fight one-on-one in up to three matches and the winner moves on to the next opponent. The offensive moves have a rock/paper/scissors-type "counter a move with another move" game play. In this case, Blow exceeds Throw, Throw exceeds Hold and Hold exceeds Blow.

When playing a one-player game, two modes are available:

Tournament - Normal
Tag Team - Select two characters. If one gets knocked out, the other one will fight in the second round.

Great attention has been paid to grqaphics, for example the female fighters cleavage is animated to the point where the operator menus contain a "breast bounce on/off" setting.
