The Daytona Championship USA Standard 42" is designed for people will smaller space restrictions in comparrison to the original Daytona Championship machine. Notable changes between the two versions include a 43-inch monitor as opposed to a 47 and the removal of the dynamic marquee which included a 32-inch monitor. In its place is a yellow Hornet car.

The standard version also includes a change in seat design, an instant rematch feature, a new tournament mode and the Sega-IQ Intelligent Service Menu. This helps technicians troubleshoot if there is a problem with the machine. Three new tracks are also included as well as a recreation of the newly renovated DAYTONA International Speedway.
