The 7th annual Golden State Pinball Festival, taking place over the weekend in Lodi, California was fully run by volunteers to raise money for the Worlds of Wonders Science Museum. The local museum aims to ignite a passion for science in children. The event, which took place over Friday, Saturday and Sunday saw hundreds of pinball machines on display and available to play for all those who attended.

The three-day event spanned over three buildings to make room for 226 arcade machines, kids and adult game tournaments, workshops and guest speakers. This years new location in Lodi meant there was more room for games, consoles and extra people. The cost of admission gave viewers access to all machines and facilities on offer.

The festival is only supported by volunteers and enthusiasts, meaning attendees were bringing their own games and consoles in from home to share with others. In the past, the festival has raised over $100,000 for the Dixon Teen Centre. The Northern California Pinball Association who host the event have also provided funds to the Boys and Girls Club of Vacaville, a youth center for underprivileged children. It has not yet been announced how much money was raised on the weekend for the Science Museum.
