ATEI's on-line presence has been designed to meet the specific needs of show exhibitors, visitors and the industry in its broadest sense. Despite being in the second year of a five-year development programme, atei.co.uk already provides a high degree of functionality. The 2002 ‘Exhibitor Zone', which is already live, will include an on-line exhibitor manual with personal secure access giving companies a direct interface with the full remit of information and instructions necessary to plan their ATEI presence.

By the beginning of October buyers wishing to attend ATEI 2002 will be able to register for tickets on-line, the fastest and most straightforward method of guaranteeing free entry. The proportion of visitors registering on-line is expected to increase substantially from the 25% who clicked their way to London for the 2001 shows.

For the 40% of ATEI visitors who are based outside of the United Kingdom, the new travel zone provides access to the full list of discounted airfares provided by flights.com, the leading e-travel company. The list comprises no fewer than 30 million discounted airfares from 264 airlines covering 35 departure countries and arriving at the five London airports; Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Luton and Stansted.

atei.co.uk also includes a full on-line profile of every exhibiting company which is regularly updated. The service allows visitors to instantly search by product grouping and for exhibitors by name, as well as giving direct links to exhibitor web sites.

Heather Turner, who is in charge of managing ATEI's on-line presence, said: "Whilst winning awards wasn't our main objective it's gratifying that atei.co.uk has been recognised for its content and functionality."

She added: "Further developments which will take place this year include an on-line visitor Guide To London, ATEI's on-line Hotel Guide and an interactive floor plan which will include a bird's eye view of the exhibition floor."
