Bandai Namco Announced Tekken 7 Official Game For The King of Iron Fist Tournment 2015

Exciting news for the serious Tekken players and fan! Bandai Namco have announced that Tekken 7 is officially the game for 'THE KING OF IRON FIST TOURNAMENT 2015'.

The company teased a big announcement was coming Tuesday of this week, and yesterday the company officially announced the news of the tournament via their Twitter account. Despite the Tekken series longevity (over 20 years and counting), this will be the games first official series tournament with a cash prize.

The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015 decides who is the best player in the world in Tekken 7, and for their efforts, the winner will receive a grand cash prize of 10 million yen (roughly $81,520 USD).

The Osaka Challenge for the qualifiers will be held in September, while the Tokyo Challenge is to be held on October, and an additional round for the Japanese qualifiers will also be held in November.

A separate group of participants from outside of Japan, including this year’s EVO 2015 winners, will include players from North America, South Korea and other countries, who will have their own tickets to the tournament.
