Bandai Namco Celebrate Pokken Tournament Release With New NicoNico Live Stream

Although we recently got a new trailer and confirmed new characters, we are set to get more as Pokken Tournament will be releasing in Japanese arcades this week and to celebrate it's release there will be a live stream on NicoNico today at 6pm Japan time!

Fans have been eagerly awaited the release of the new Pokemon fighting game since it's announcement in September last year! Bandai Namco and Nintendo have managed to keep the hype alive over the last 10 months with picture releases, character announcements (the most recent being the addition of Charizard and Weavile, plus another support set), and plenty of NicoNico live streams and attending show (usually featuring Katsuhiro Harada in a Pikachu onesie).

And there's more to come! It has been confirmed that a new Pokken Tournament stream is going to be aired on NicoNico today, July 16th, from 18:00 to 20:30 Japan time (you have less than 6 hours till air!) to celebrate the game’s release in Japanese arcades.

Hopefully this will mean loads of new game footage, maybe some new stuff we haven't seen yet, and I have heard nothing about this but I would be keeping an eye out for any tributes to the late Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata, who recently lost his battle with a bile duct growth.

There has still be no confirmation on whether this game will head out West or a console port, despite the many rumours, and I don't think we'll hear anything about either for some time yet as they are currently focusing on the Japan arcade market.
