Big Four Agree Exhibition Alliance

Four of the industry's leading business-to-business exhibition organisers have joined forces to form the ‘Global Leisure and Amusement Exhibition Alliance'. The big four – comprising the American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA), the Amusement and Music Operators Association (AMOA), Amusement Trades Exhibitions (ATE) and the International Association for the Leisure and Entertainment Industry (IALEI) – will be working in tandem to promote both visitor and exhibitor attendance at their respective events. The exhibitions covered by the Alliance comprise ASI (Las Vegas), AMOA (Las Vegas), FunExpo (Las Vegas) and ATEI (London).

A joint statement issued by Mike Rudowicz, President of AAMA; Carole Sjolander, Executive Director of IALEI; Jack Kelleher, Executive Vice President AMOA; and Julian Graves, Marketing & Commercial Director of ATE reads:

"The purpose of the Alliance is to encourage and facilitate the broadest possible participation in the world's major exhibitions. Taking ATEI as an example, what this means in practice is that the London show will serve as an initial point of contact for European businesses wishing to target the American market. This will involve identifying the event most appropriate to their business and putting them in contact with the relevant personnel within the Alliance."

"The arrangement will be reciprocal and will enable exhibitors and buyers throughout the world to gain maximum return from their exhibition presence. Over the next two months we will be discussing the range of benefits we can provide members of our respective trade associations to participate at each others' exhibitions, as well as exploring opportunities to expand the Pavilion initiative launched last year. Whilst the Alliance will initially consist of events organised or owned by AAMA, AMOA, IALEI and ATE, we envisage an expansion of the network to include additional high profile industry exhibitions."

Members of the Alliance are working on a range of joint communications initiatives to help promote the shows and further announcements will follow.
