At the moment the demo uses a standard gamepad to fly around and fire weapons, but the Oculus Rift is the key to gameplay. Using a built-in motion tracker, players can look around 360 degrees to spot enemies or look at a target to gain a lock-on enemies. All the while, players mjust watch for enemy missiles and use the afterburner to dodge. The Oculus Rift technology allows players to immerse themselves in a high speed, high suspense game. The proof-of-concept game took seven weeks to build using the company's 20 percent time. Whether we see this game in the future or not is a case of "wait and see", but it is hard to ignore the excitement generated by the concept and the technology.
