E Greeting Cards Now Available on uWink Terminals

uWink has announced the availability of e-greeting cards on its terminals. The Greeting Card program began this week with the download of a Valentine's Day greeting, which allowed players to send online cards to their loved ones directly from the uWink terminals. The Valentine message is the first of many varied greeting cards scheduled to hit the terminals in the next few months. Birthday, Anniversary, I'm Sorry, Get Well, Friendship, and St. Patrick's Day are all upcoming topics.The Valentine greeting, priced at .25, is a refreshing new way to remember loved ones. Future e-greetings will be priced from .25-$1.00. "While we believe that games will continue to be the dominant category in our system, we think that e-greetings sent from our terminals can provide a steady, additional source of income," said Nolan Bushnell, CEO.
Bill Cravens of Bulldog Amusements commented that "many times people are in bars after arguments with their spouses – this will be an easy way to send an e-apology and then enjoy a few games."
The company intends to make available many additional e-commerce offerings as well.
