Italy still in the doldrums over new gaming law criteria

This article comes from Highwaygames.com

The confusion surrounding the new Italian gaming laws is deepening as a leaked paper shows that the government does not want many features found on gaming machines.

The government does not want any of the following;

  • Games that payout money-only tokens with no cash value will be allowed

  • No Card symbols

  • A game not lasting more than 12 seconds

This will end the current huge Poker market in Italy, however officials from both SAPAR and SINDAUT the Italian trade bodies are speaking with Government officials for clarification.

If Pokers are outlawed it may signal the revival of AWP (Amusement with Prize) style games, and a new interest in Video games which have definitely been effected by the huge success of the Poker machines.
