The Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association, the trade body that represents the leading 150 gaming and entertainment corporations in Asia, will launch its first ever international relations campaign at this year’s ICE Totally Gaming Show in London.

2016 is an important year for the MGEMA. It marks the next step forward in the association’s development, both internationally and regionally where the organisation will use its influence to drive Macau forward as the economic hub of the Asia Pacific continent. That campaign starts next month at a special MGEMA Cocktail Party in London when senior delegates from the association head to ICE 2016 to deliver the message that Macau offers an unparalleled powerhouse for trade and business to the world industry.

A delegation of senior figures from the Macau business community will be hosting their first ever overseas event with a special Cocktail Party on the second day of the exhibition at the adjacent Crown Plaza Hotel (Wednesday 3 February 2016, 18:00-20:30). The reception will include an opening welcome by MGEMA Chairman Jay Chun, who will officially launch the association’s international relations campaign for 2016.

Explaining the thinking behind the MGEMA’s first formal trade mission outside of Macau and the People’s Republic of China, Jay Chun stated: “The MGEMA has come a long way in its three years of representing the interests of the major forces in Asian business. We have earned the trust of the Macau SAR Government, who are major sponsors of our own trade show MGS, and we have a very powerful case to make. The drive for economic diversity in Macau opens a wealth of opportunity for business in the region and that will form the crux of our international campaign over the coming year.”

The MGEMA Cocktail Party will include major figures from the Chinese and Asian industry, and provides a rare opportunity for the international business community to discuss economic and investment opportunities in the region with the Macau delegates.

Jay Chun concluded: “The reception will be the MGEMA’s first official venture on foreign soil. As an association we have a lot of initiatives and projects we want to discuss with the industry, and we also want to build partnerships across the world that will strengthen the trading, commercial and cultural links between us all. There is a determined policy in the region to push the economy forward, and that’s through trading links. We want to convey the message to people that the MGEMA, and the Macao Gaming Show, are the best routes into the Asia Pacific continent.”

MGEMA Cocktail Party, Crown Plaza London Docklands, The Docklands Suite, Docklands London. Wednesday 3 February 2016, 18:00-20:30. Tickets available through the MGEMA offices in Macau, and GB Media Corporation in the UK.
