King's new outfit is based on the wrestling attire of current IWGP Heavyweight champion, Kazuchika Okada
Alongside the reveal of Tekken 7’s Online Tournament feature and the return of two characters, the King of the Iron Fist Global Finals brought with it another big announcement for fans of both real and virtual fighting.
Tekken 7 is a fighting video game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
A tournament, King of the Iron Fist, was developed to find the best Tekken 7 players in the world, even though the game is only available in arcades.
The global final of the King of the Iron Fist tournament was held in Tokyo in December.
It was staged live after multiple qualifiers were held all around the world throughout 2016.
At the global final, it was revealed that two of the series’ most iconic animal characters, Kuma and Panda, will be returning to Tekken 7 when it hits PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year.
Additionally, in collaboration with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Tekken 7 will feature a special outfit for King, based on the wrestling attire of current IWGP Heavyweight champion Kazuchika Okada.
A new trailer was released showing off this new outfit, and showing Kazuchika Okada talking about this new “Rainmaker” outfit for King.
King has even gained the use of Okada’s Rainmaker finisher as one of his new moves in Tekken 7, making this collaboration an absolute dream for wrestling fans.
At the end of the King of Iron Fist Global Championship stream, Bandai Namco dropped a new trailer announcing Kuma and Panda will be returning to Tekken 7.
The Tekken 7 release date is due to be made this month (January 2017).
