Sakai is said to be "delighted" about the state of affairs, and who can blame him. "This is a challenging time for Sega Europe, the transition from a hardware business to a multi-platform business continues and I have a great deal to do in restructuring Sega Europe for a profitable future," he said in a statement. "My first task will be to develop a business model in line with our new multi platform strategy and I will be looking to ensure that our invaluable know-how is redirected in the most productive manner."
