Sega has started production on a new smaller, standard version of their Daytona USA. Known as the Daytona Championship USA Standard, the new model is designed for people will smaller space restrictions. Notable changes between the two versions include a 43-inch monitor as opposed to a 47 and the removal of the dynamic marquee which included a 32-inch monitor. In its place is a yellow Hornet car.

Since its launch, demand for the machine has been very high. The standard version also includes a change in seat design, as opposed to the molded chrome engine prop used in the deluxe, an instant rematch feature, a new tournament mode and the Sega-IQ Intelligent Service Menu. This helps technicians troubleshoot if there is a problem with the machine. Three new tracks have also been included as well as a recreation of the newly renovated DAYTONA International Speedway.
