Hong Kong's Skynet Ltd said on Friday it has formed a strategic alliance with Japan's video game maker Sega Corp to introduce the enhanced version of Sega's game console Dreamcast and online game platform in Hong Kong.

As reported in the South China Morning Post, Skynet is looking to fully develop its relationship with Sega by teaming its GamePlayer division with Sunevision Holdings to provide Dreamcast set-top box service to residents of blue chip property developer Sun Hung Kai Properties.

Skynet is looking for a more active role of online sales of home market games and with the help of Sega will be looking into establishing itself into many households throughout Hong Kong. This can only be seen as bad news for the arcade industry which is already suffering losses not seen before.
