Star Wars Flat Screen Edition Now Shipping

Bandai Namco Entertainment’s standard version of their Star Wars Battle Pod arcade game (Flat Screen Edition ) is now shipping to the trade, just in time for the Force Awakens movie release on December 18.

The Star Wars Battle Pod flat screen edition features a 42" HD LCD display that tilts at a 20 degree angle to give an even more physically immersive feel when playing the game. The game features immersive sound effects, recognizable spaceships and four scenes from the famous movies, making the game even more exciting for fans.

What is most exciting about this version of the game though is, unlike the full pod version of this game, the Flat Screen edition is now linkable for two players, allowing players to work together to complete missions and competing for the highest score! The player with the higher score will be dubbed the “Leader”, while the runner up will be dubbed “Wingman”.

The flat screen version has been released as a standard version of the Battle Pod and is a much cheaper model due to its’ smaller footprint and lack of simulative hardware that appears in the Deluxe model (including a curved 180 degree dome screen and motion simulation). This has made the game much more viable for smaller and medium locations.
