Tekken 6 to remain arcade exclusive until Fall 2009

Namco Bandai Games have announced that fighting game Tekken 6 will be released to the home console market worldwide in Fall 2009. The news should please arcade operators, with the home console release delayed considerably longer than was originally anticipated, with Tekken 6 remaining an arcade exclusive until next year.

The announcement came at the Tokyo Game Show earlier today, with Namco Bandai revealing that Tekken 6 would be released on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 home consoles. Although no firm release date for the home market was ever confirmed, Tekken 6 was originally expected to be released in Q4 2008. Namco Bandai Games confirmed development of the home console port of the popular arcade game is only 40% complete, and is scheduled to launch in Fall 2009.
