A new video released last week, featuring Katsuhiro Harada and two cosplay girls as Lucky Chloe and Lili, shows the new Super Slow Motion and more new game features.

The video is almost 45 mins long and has no English translation, but there is still a lot of great information those of us who can't speak Japanese can get out of the video.

The video is an interview with producer and director, Katsuhiro Harada, Japanese model Sano Hinako dressed as Lucky Chloe, and another woman dressed as Lili. The video show cases a few points of interest to the Tekken community eagerly awaiting their chance to play, including:

  • The Super Slow Motion feature - at around 3:13, game play footage of Kazuya and Heihachi is playing, demonstrating this new feature. Super Slow Motion occurs when players have little health remaingin and pull off moves at the same time. Harada says that this gives it a more exciting cinematic feel, where you won't exactly know who'll land the hit.

  • Lucky Chloe - at 9:40 we have a small introduction to Lucky Chloe, who she is as a character, and we get to see more of what Lucky Chloe has to offer players at 15:40, including her break-dancing style moves and her finisher, which appears to be a kind of head spin.

  • Tekken 7 Beginners Guide - at 10:15 we are shown that there will be a Beginners Guide with the game, which includes player instructions for all the characters, helping new players learn the controls.

  • Basic moves and combos - at 10:56, the video takes a look at a majority of the roster and showcases basic gameplays moves and combos players ca perform, with the button sequence shown on the screen. This give players a bit of an idea of the play mechanics for this game.

  • Shaheen - at 11:18, we get to see a little more of the Arabic character, Shaheen, which there is still very little information on.

In regards to the creation of Lucky Chloe, Harada says that the way they come up with characters vary from case to case, but for Chloe, he told his team to make a character that we haven’t really seen from the Tekken series thus far, and one that will surprise others and make them want to try out the game.

After Harada first saw Lucky Chloe, he asked whether a character like that would actually be okay, to which the designer responded by telling him “isn’t that what you wanted in the first place?”.

In regards to the inspiration for the stages, according to Harada, while he does travel around the world enough for work-related purposes, he says that most of his inspiration comes from fans around the world, and he looks up all kinds of requests and does further research into the areas before making them into stages.
