Legendary Arcade Fighting Series ‘Tekken’ receives Netflix Adaptation

Bandai-Namco’s legendary arcade mainstay series ‘Tekken’ will be made into an anime-style Netflix series titled ‘Tekken: Bloodline’.

The series focuses on the life of the contentious protagonist of the series - Jin Kazama, son of Heihachi Mishima. 

The trailer provides insight to Jin’s upbringing and training with mother, Jun, before Ogre - the key antagonist from Tekken 3 - appears at the Kazama household. Jin and Jun take a beating from Ogre and Jun is murdered while Jin escapes. The trailer then depicts Jin in his signature white hood seeking training from his bad-boy grandfather, Heihachi.

There is an overarching theme of family, fitting to the plotline of the Tekken series which focuses on the disfunctional Mishima and Kazama families, which have been infiltrated by the ‘Devil Gene’.

The trailer also features appearances from major Tekken characters Paul, King and Leroy.
