American Show Rocks the House
The March 9-11 Amusement Showcase International (ASI) in Las Vegas offered an industrious buying environment for the cream of the North American buyers. But weak operator attendance (especially from beyond the Western region), and a slight drop in exhibitors, prompted show owners to vote for a change of venue next year. The Stinger reports the big show appearances, ranging from Namco's big driver 'Maxi Tune!' to new shooters and fighters from Sammy, the next in the Initial D series and its broadband upgrade. Details of market reaction to ASI relocation to Chicago and implications of the Nevada amusement show calendar are also investigated.

Thinking Out of the iTBOX!
The Stinger investigates the possibilities for the UK's fastest growing broadband amusement platform. Leisure Link's iTBox has now revealed itself as a versatile platform combining touchscreen, music and VSWP elements, with 45 software titles, and as many SWP titles able to be downloaded straight to a predominately bar and pub located machine. TSR looks at the possibility that the platform will spread its influence farther afield, supported by a new effort to find more software titles.
