Wiegand Maelzer Testing 'Waterplexx 5D' Prototype in Austria and Kuala Lumpur.

Since the end of January the German slides manufacturer Wiegand Maelzer has been holding the distribution rights to the 5D theatres developed for water parks by Kraftwerk.

A prototype of this new attraction had been installed by Kraftwerk in cooperation with Polin at Austria’s EurothermenResorts Bad Schallerbach back in 2011 and was followed by the opening of the world’s first “Waterplexx 5D” Multi-D Cinema SFX at Sunway Lagoon Waterpark in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

According to Philipp Mehlich, Sales & Marketing at Wiegand Maelzer, the 5D cinemas are especially designed for water parks. The prototypes are available in two different sizes featuring 24 or 36 seats.
