Wonderland Wars Adds Merrow the Siren to Character Roster

Sega added another character to the Wonderland Wars roster on October 2nd, a mermaid character titled Merrow the Siren!

The inclusion of the word ‘siren’ in the character’s title would suggest that the character was inspired by more traditional folklore around mermaids as fatal sirens of the sea.

This image of the siren and her alluring music/voice is reinforced throughout the game in a number of ways. One example is when Merrow speaks her voice rings out above the noise of the game and is quite musical.

Another example is Merrow’s main weapon, which is a harp she uses for long range attacks. The harp is carved from a large shell and doubles as her wand. There is also an attack where she looks to be singing, with musical notes around her (which also feature on her player cards), but her attacks have not been specified as of yet.

She also appears to have another special power or attack which allows Merrow to create a whirlpool of some kind, which travels across the playfield and damaging everyone in its path.

This character looks like she would be a lot of fun to play, and definitely switches up the game play a bit and offers players something a little different to what is already on the character roster. So far the roster includes:

  • Cinderella
  • Alice
  • Phosphore (Little Match Girl)
  • Princess Kaguya from the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter
  • Scarlet (Little Red Riding Hood), and more!

Plus some of the characters, such as Cinderella and Alice, have Shadow versions for players to enjoy!
