In 2013, nearly 800 game lovers trekked to downtown Phoenix for the first ZapCon event to play 200 different games and partake in game-related activities and events, including tournaments, films, talks, and an Artcade. Now in 2014, the second annual ZapCon will be taking place in Phoenix once more!
ZapCon is a two-day gaming convention celebrating classic arcade and pinball games. Think Asteroids and Galaga, along with pinball games like Cyclone - old-school games that continue to collect new fans and incite excitement and nostalgia for life long players.
Building on last year’s still-talked-about event, Phoenix’s ZapCon is a convention that brings gaming fans of all ages and skill levels to the heart of the city to play games, interact with other gamers and to revel in a haven of unique, innovative and inspirational classic games.
Visitors can game for fun or flex their competitive muscles in pinball or arcade game
tournaments, and even challenge world record scores!
The event welcomes the return of “Pinball Rodeo,” a just-for-fun tournament comprised of a special selection of highly customized pinball machines. Pinball Rodeo offers fun for all ages and skill levels. Last year’s event was the first time Pinball Rodeo had been showcased in several years!
