Merit Industries, citing its successful strategic focus on the touchscreen game market and the continuing challenges of the slowing dart market, has made the decision to exit the coin-operated dart manufacturing business.
Merit will honor all warranty obligations on its dart products. In addition, Merit Industries will continue to provide replacement parts and spares to the market.
"We have conducted a full business review of the dart product line and have concluded that the industry will be better served if we focus our efforts on the touchscreen business," said Merit's C.E.O., David Logan.

As a result of the elimination of this product line, Merit Industries has withdrawn from the N.D.A. and eliminated its "World Series of Darts" tournament program.
Merit Customer Service and Technical Support will continue to provide assistance to operators utilizing Scorpion Darts and "League Tracker" software.
