The Italian show has recently come to an end, and once again the show organisers did themselves proud in the beautiful seaside town of Rimini. They did, nearly have a major problem as the show was scheduled to be in the new Exhibition centre but just a couple of weeks ago there was still no electricity or other utilities so it was all move back to the Old Fierra.

The main new games at the show were the Sega Virtua Striker 3 and the Virtua Golf, the new prices however were proving to be a little too high for many operators, who are already facing a period of uncertainty with the gaming laws under review. Technoplay had a great looking Lazer shooting game from the US and Gevin showed the new prototype of Silent Scope 3 as well as the latest Acade PC game from Covicade in Spain called Speed Rage.

Poker games were everywhere and at prices that would deter many outside companies from contemplating entering the market, although we did see R&D guys from most of the major UK- Dutch- Spainish - German companies. The Touchscreens are still taking good money with all manufacturers being represented, by their respective distributors.

In conclusion the market here is in a period of flux until the gaming issue is resolved and this will effect all types of machine sold into this market, as the feeling is very much one of Zero Investment until the future is clear.
