Although most people have to travel thousands of miles to see ancient Greek ruins, those in the Halifax Region of Nova Scotia will get a small taste of them within an unlikely venue – Alpha Strike Laser Tag.

The 7,000 square foot new family entertainment center has an expansive lobby and party areas that are themed to look very similar to an ancient city with marble like pillars, columns and statues. As customers walk in, it's as if legendary gods and goddesses are watching over them. Creative Works spent a full week at the site transforming it into a mythical wonderland.

Creative Works sent two of their artists to complete the task at hand and produce the custom scenery from Greek mythology references. They focused on creating authentic looking architecture as well as subtle clues to the culture.

Props inside the lobby included an age-old stone entryway which led into the briefing room where the players were educated about their mission and the excitement to come. The lobby included a large three-panel stone design of an ancient mural pulled out of Greek mythology with a horse and chariot. The pinnacle piece in the lobby was the bust of Zeus who sat atop the party rooms, looking at the guests as they entered. Inside the party rooms, Creative Works created color-coded bands around the room as a labeling system so party goers, moms, and staff could easily identify which party room belongs to them. It's a simple idea that helps out immensely from an operational standpoint. The 4,000 square foot arena looked like overgrown ancient remnants with symbols representative of the ancient culture.

Bright fluorescent plants, fallen logs, and other unique props were placed within the arena space. On the outside perimeter of the room, the Theme Team painted large expansive murals of thick jungle scenes mixed with ancient debris.

"We took our Jungle Quest theme and transformed it into Greek ruins at the request of the clients," said Armando Lanuti from Creative Works. "We worked with our clients during the entire process to help design, build and install their facility, and get their questions answered. The end result was spectacular."

Mike Goud and his partner Don Backa, co-owners of Alpha Strike showed the team wonderful hospitality while in Nova Scotia. Michael was completely ecstatic when seeing the theming in both the lobby and laser tag arena. "I felt like the sketches and pictures drawn before the installation didn't do the final product justice," said Goud. "The Creative Works team over-delivered!"

Creative Works has been creating laser tag arenas and themed environments for thirteen years with over 300 existing sites and is the premiere company to create "The Wow Effect" within any family entertainment center.
