KONAMI has formally announced the release of
REFLEC BEAT, a new type of player vs. player rhythm action game that fuses the excitement of music games with action games. The game is set to launch at amusement facilities in Japan from early November.
REFLEC BEAT, the newest title in the BEMANI series, is a game in which players compete to best their opponent's score by moving to the rhythm while touching and bouncing back target objects that come flying toward the borderline at the bottom of their screens. The game's simple rules and instinctive use of the touch panel allow for fun, easy, and rhythmic gaming for anyone.
Players can enjoy heated battles directly with partners, friends, and other opponents inside an amusement facility, or they can compete online against players nationwide through the "e-AMUSEMENT" service featured on the machine. There are three levels of musical difficulty, and players can compete at the level of difficulty that best suits them.
The system features more than 50 songs, including "Ready to be a lady," a new track released by GIRL NEXT DOOR, as well as "LUCKY STAR" by Ai Otsuka, "Mata Kimi ni Koi Shiteru" by Fuyumi Sakamoto, and a wide range of other titles by popular artists so that players can select their song of choice and enjoy carefree gaming.
As players repeat plays, the game screen and objects can be customised to their liking, and they will also have an even wider selection of songs to choose from. Furthermore, the game is compatible with KONAMI's PASELI e-money service, which offers game playing that frees players from fuss over coins.
