Sega Corp., which scrapped its Dreamcast video-game console this year to focus on software development, said it will provide 10 game titles for Nintendo Co.'s GameCube device, set for release in Japan on Sept. 14, including Virtua Striker III.

Among the titles, Sega's studio companies are developing two from the Amusement Vision studio and one from the Sonic Team, Sega said in a release distributed by Business Wire.

Sega, which is forecasting a loss for the year ended March 31, shed the unprofitable Dreamcast business at the end of the last fiscal year to concentrate on developing software for rivals such as Sony Corp.'s PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox, which will go on sale Nov. 8 in the U.S.

The Tokyo-based company said Amusement Vision is developing ''Super Monkey Ball,'' an arcade game, and the soccer game ''Virtua Striker 3 Ver.2002'' for the GameCube, successor to the Nintendo 64 console. The Sonic Team will deliver ''Phantasy Star Online for GC,'' a network role-playing game originally developed for Sega's own Dreamcast.

Sega joins a growing list of game developers designing software for Nintendo's new machine. Lucasarts Entertainment Co. said this week it will develop ''Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II'' for the GameCube. The flight action game is a follow- up to Lucasarts' hugely popular ''Rogue Squadron,'' which was developed for Nintendo's Nintendo 64.

Sega's shares rose as much as 50 yen, or 1.9 percent, to 2,710 yen. Nintendo's shares rose as much as 790 yen, or 3.9 percent, to 21,240.
