uWink Releases Going, Going, Gone!
uWink, Inc., an entertainment network company, today launched the first application of its Sports Club Network: Going, Going, Gone! uWink players and sports enthusiasts alike now have the ability to compete in fantasy sports leagues using the company's terminals.

Participants choose either a line-up of three players in three categories: "Hits", "RBI's" and "Home Runs", or select "triple play" and pick line-ups for all categories. Players must have their picks entered by Sundays at midnight. Each player's stats for the next seven days are then calculated and matched with the line-ups from all uWink terminals. Every week there will be winners from coast to coast. To encourage continued play, weekly statistics for each uWink player are added week upon week to obtain an ongoing season leader board. uWink players can enter as often as they like, and uWink will take their best line-ups for calculation.

"I am very excited about Going, Going, Gone!", said uWink VP Todd Cravens. "Fantasy leagues are a huge business. What better place to have fantasy leagues than in taverns and sports bars, where a lot of our terminals are located? We have already designed our databases to handle all major sports for fantasy leagues, including golf, football, basketball, and hockey. This is something totally new; it has never been attempted in our industry to date. I feel that the applications that we add to the uSCN will be very profitable to the operator."

uWink's network allows the company to download timely content for specific holidays and new entertainment weekly, conduct regular multiple tournaments, as well as to provide competitions like Going, Going, Gone! using current statistics, all at no cost to the operator. The company intends to offer many varied competitions using current event data from elections, professional and college sports, the Academy Awards, the Grammy Awards, etc. According to CEO Nolan Bushnell, "At this point we have only 10% of the planned features for our terminals enabled. The network allows us to think of our system as an entertainment network, not just a game box. After all, we are simply selling time, and the more varied the entertainment, the wider the audience. The wider the audience, the greater the revenue to the operator."
