Golden Tee Fore! players in the Midwest will have a chance to win more than just prize money starting July 6 when Incredible Technologies (IT) and United Distillers and

Vintners (UDV) present Rumple Minze Weekends during monthly Golden Tee Fore! tournaments.

Operators in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia will reap the benefits of the additional earnings this program will generate in their top establishments. According to Scott Morrison, executive director of the International Tournament System (ITS), "Rumple Minze Weekends is a test program that combines in-game branding, online tournaments, and live events. This is another first for IT and the coin-op industry. If successful UDV intends to roll this out across the country."

The in-game branding elements are a hot-air balloon and inflatable Rumple Minze bottle. Fly-bys, instant replays, and score cards round out the other branding opportunities. Rumple Minze prizes will be awarded to the top 3 scorers in each tournament division every Friday and Saturday. Prizes include golf bags, wind shirts, and coolers.

Morrison explained that what differentiates the UDV program from the on going Anheuser-Busch Michelob Light Thursdays is the inclusion of live events. "UDV and IT have created a program where pretty girls, hole-in-one contests, and drink specials are as important to the overall success of the program as the prizes are in the online tournament. The Peppermint Caddies are 3 very beautiful young ladies who are seeking a fourth teammate. Top bars and pubs in the Midwest will host contests to help the Peppermint Caddies find this fourth young woman to complete their foursome. Guys will love this. It'll be wild!"

Promotional materials for the program include a special Rumple Minze Weekends promo pack that includes shot glasses, table tents, posters and banners. Operators will work with IT to distribute these packs to their locations. UDV's on-premise marketing teams will coordinate the live events, with IT, the location, and the operator all working together to make the event a success. "We have 1,200 promo packs and UDV expects to host over 50 live events in Chicago, Detroit, and Cincinnati," said Gary Colabuono, IT's director of marketing. "We're looking forward to working with operators in these cities on this exciting new program."

Chicago's On-Premise Marketing (OPM) facilitated the agreement between UDV and IT. Steve Doroba, president of OPM, thinks that the future is bright for IT and its operators. "We've just scratched the surface so far with national marketers wanting to partner with IT and Golden Tee Golf. Operators will see big increases in their cash box as players respond to these exciting programs."
