Plenty of new products were on show this year with some excellent concepts and well presented machines. Today's report is on Sega.

King of Route 66, an excellent (and most people we talked to) the standout as the best game at the show. Super graphics and improved game play, this machine is the next installment of 18 Wheeler.

Arcade Stage, a single player (linkable) driving game based on road racing was well presented, a new gun game titled The Shooting - a game with more graphical (instead of realistic) characters. The machine is to be sold in SD and DX format. Also on display was Virtua On 4, a machine that is expected to perform extremely well in the Asian markets.

Power Smash 2 was on display and looks to be an excellent PCB or upgrade for your naomi I system board. Graphically excellent, and now with ladies and mix doubles play, it looks like a must have for operators.

Plently of interest in Virtua Fighter 4 - featuring super graphics and presentation together with card reader. With the advancements of the data card readers allowing data saves and character building, Sega is looking to further develop product loyalty where people continue to come back to the games. Most games now show this feature.

Another showcase game is the Derby Owners Club II - a game that is taking Asian amusement centres by storm, players can build up their horse and save its data on data cards. So successful is this game, that more than 50 machines have been sold into the Hong Kong market which is a very competitive market. Arcade owners continue to remove large amounts of games from their arcades in order to house this popular and large machine.

Also on show were Shakatto Tambourine, Star Horse 2001, Boat Race - Ocean Heats, Galaxy Express, Dinori Daimyojin, UFO Catcher 7, Special Time, and a range of children based games with cooperation with Disney characters.
