National Ticket and X-ident Announce Manufacturing Licensing Agreement
X-ident has established a manufacturing licensing agreement with National Ticket. The deal involves the licensing of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, or smart tickets, which are being used in a variety of applications with excellent growth opportunities in market segments such as document tracking, libraries, multi-use container logistics, and electronic ticketing in the gaming and entertainment industries.

Software developers will find that integrating this type of system into a business will help solve many inventory and tracking problems. X-ident and National Ticket are seeking software developers to partner with for applications that would benefit from an RFID solution.

"RFID technology is far reaching because it can be so easily customized," said National Ticket's Tim Timco, Director of Sales. "Any business looking for the benefits of better tracking, increased security, improved inventory control, and better profits, may find RFID applications will meet their needs."

X-ident-GmbH, the Germany-based parent corporation of X-ident USA, is a pioneer in radio frequency identification. In fact, X-ident developed a special production method for smart labels, called IQ-Paperâ„¢, which combines the requirements of handling electronic components optimally with laminated paper and plastic film material. Through the licensing agreement, X-ident GmbH will begin the manufacturing process, and National Ticket will be handling the finishing work, essentially printing the final product.

"We have close to a century of ticket printing experience," added Timco, "including tickets, wrist bands, and bar code tickets. This is an ideal arrangement because we are adding X-ident's technology to our products, and we print the final product, just as we do with tickets."

In Europe, X-ident's products are currently being piloted as electronic bag tags for British Airways and electronic parcel tags for German transporter, Deutscher Paketdienst. The products have great potential for enhancing security. For example, the tags can verify if a piece of luggage is on the wrong plane. They can help ease congestion of security checks, or entry into ballgames or concerts by scanning multiple people at one time, and becoming both an entrance ticket and personal identification.

X-ident is a worldwide producer of smart labels, tags, and tickets. The products are marketed under the brand name IQ-Paperâ„¢ and comprise electronic adhesive labels, tickets and tags. In addition to customer-specific lamination, X-ident offers a complete function check of every individual product. X-ident has developed the world's highest volume and quality single line production process for smart labels with an annual capacity in excess of 80 million electronic labels.
