Photoplay Expands into Asia despite Problems in Europe
Photoplay has recently expanded the scope of it operations to include Asia. 350 Photo Play terminals have already been set up in Singapore and definite talks with partners, concerning the expansion of activities into Malaysia, are in progress. After various difficulties on the Asian market, funworld was now able to reset the course for the future. As many as Negotiations with a strong Taiwanese partner for Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, has yeilded especially high potential. Also, large companies on the Asian market are showing a strong interest in booking advertising on Photo Play terminals. This way the games terminal would be employed as marketing and communications platform as well as for fun and entertainment.
This expansion comes in the midst of conterfeiting problems in Europe. Photoplay has found companies making copies of both the registered designs of Photo Play Smart 2.1 and that of Photo Play Spirit 2.1. These terminal are in circulation on the international market and are being advertised in several trade magazines by various producers. Funworld's management has decided to act firmly against these facts and has already handed the case to its lawyers.
