ATD and EAASI join forces

A major new force in the international parks and attractions industry is about to be formed following the creation of a joint venture initiative between ATD Limited – a subsidiary of Amusement Trades Exhibitions, the company responsible for the annual London shows – and the European Association Amusement Supplier Industry (EAASI).

The joint venture will see the formation of a new company to organise and market Euro Amusement Show, an annual event catering for the international theme parks, major rides and attractions industry. The 2003 Euro Amusement Show will be held in Genoa, Italy (29th, 30th, 31st January).

EAASI president Alberto Zamperla said: "EAASI was formed to bring together European operators and suppliers active in the theme park, major rides and attractions industry. Although great progress has been made over a short time scale it is important to ensure continued development. Whilst this year's event staged in co-operation with Interschau met expectations, the future – agreed in partnership with ATD – will result in a single pan-European show, for the industry and by the industry, run by what is widely regarded as the world's best exhibition and event organising company."

Peter Rusbridge, chief executive of ATD welcomed the agreement with EAASI commenting: "Our ethos is to work in partnership with the sectors that we serve in order to tailor events – conferences and exhibitions – to meet industry needs. We are delighted that EAASI has chosen us as its partner to create what will be a world beating showcase for the industry."
