Photo Play Announce Winners for Games Idea Compeition
Two young Austrian ladies were awarded 1st and 3rd places at the International Photo Play Games Idea Competition 2002 and came away with a combined total of € 10,000. They both adore Sitcoms à la "Sex in the City", are young, creative, full of ideas and are great friends. Margit Nobis, who is Photo Play games idea competition 2002 winner and Claudia Heinze, who came in third place.
These two young women (both pictured left) can be very proud of their achievement because of the great number of entries which had been submitted for the international competition that Photo Play had conducted jointly with the EURO 26 youth card in Austria. Many of these entries were of extremely high quality. That fact that Nobis and Heinze topped the list of best entrants may be partly due to the fact that they are both studying experimental and visual design at the University of Linz. This was however not a prerequisite, which was proven by Klaus Steputat from Berlin, who came in second place by submitting a great idea accompanied by simple sketch.
The two girls spent half a day at funworld's headquarters in Shoerfling & meet members of the jury, in order to gain insight into the company's day-to-day business as well as the making of touchscreen terminals. During their visit they where award their prizes of € 7,000.- and € 3,000.- respectively. Of course they had the opportunity of trying out latest games "Rumbling Marbles" which had them immediately took a liking to.
