Bandai Namco is set to announce the release date for the highly anticipated Tekken 7: Fated Retribution next week.
The game’s official Twitter account shared the pre-announcement on January 19, confirming that the game’s release is coming next week.
No other details were specified.
Tekken was fighting game that dominated in the 90s.
Released in 1994, Tekken was the first game to exceed one million units sold on the PlayStation 1, and was one of the first fighting games to use 3D animations.
After 22 years of arcade and console releases, and with over 42 million copies sold worldwide, Tekken will finally be making its long awaited PC debut in 2017 Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.
Tekken has developed a generous character roster for almost everyone who plays the game.
Each character has their own detailed backstory and move list which consists of almost 100 basic arts, combos, and grapples.
One of the more interesting features of Tekken 7 is the single-player campaign.
The mode is said to mix QTE’s and cut-scenes with regular gameplay for a more cinematic experience.
Tekken 7 has also introduced new theatrical features such as Rage Art and Rage Drive, which help set the game aside from its previous instalments.
Rage Art allows players to land a significantly powerful attack on a character in a big fancy over-the-top display.
Rage Drive on the other hand is a series of strong attacks which deal a higher amount of damage than normal.
Tekken has always been an arcade and console based game, with the user base predominantly existing on PlayStation.
However, the news of Tekken 7’s debut on PC has grabbed the attention of even the most dedicated of console players.
