After Burner Climax DX is the arcade machine sequel to the Sega classic After Burner. Players are called on once more to climb into the cockpit of their fighter jet and protect the skies from the enemy. Powered by the Lindbergh Hardware system.
It has a custom designed cabinet with a 2 point motion base and extremely responsive controls. The screen features a details Head Up Displays featuring remaining armour, missiles and climax gauge. The climax gauge builds up over time and through events of the game and allows the player to unleash a full salvo of weapons for a all out assault on the enemies. Climax Mode also enables your aircraft to fly at MACH speed to go beyond the speed of sound and is very useful in accomplishing the mission.
The game features the best modern fighter planes including the F-14 Super Tomcat, F-15E Strike Eagle and the F/A-19E Super Hornet. There are also 20 new stages including Volcanic Islands, an Iceberg Base, Nuclear Arsenal, plus secret and extra stages.
If two cabinets are linked together, players can play co-operatively and fly side by side to beat the threat of the enemy.
