Cobra: The Arcade is a light gun shooting game that implements Namco's popular foot pedal hide and reload system.
The game follows the exploits of a freelance mercenary on his intergalatic quests. The game is based around the popular anime title Space Adventure Cobra.
The main character cobra has a mechanical arm and can use it for a variety of purposes including as a gun. Players take the role of Cobra and can choose from the initially selectable stages and weapons.
With the use of the memory card system (players card), in this game called the "Psycho Gun Card", the player can earn points and modify Cobra's gun in three areas: Max Lock, Power, Hitscan.
For each stage the player completes he is ranked based on his performance. As the player progresses through the stages, additional stages and extra play modes are unlocked.
