Elevator Action: Death Parade is a light gun shooter from Taito. Taito has resurrected the classic Elevator Action franchise, which included the the classic 1983 arcade game Elevator Action, and Elevator Action Returns. Elevator Action: Death Parade however is very different to its side scrolling platformer predecessors, with players using guns to take out onscreen targets.
The machine has a giant set of realistic elevator doors, which open up to reveal the 50" screen. The doors open and close during play to simulate riding an elevator, and are integrated into the story. One scene includes a giant monster who tries to force the elevator open, with player having to shoot the monster and close the doors.
The machine also features a smaller sub monitor that shows a view of what is happening around the elevator hall, even while the doors are closed. This help to build suspense and keep players on their toes.
