EZ2AC: Night Traveller is latest version game in the EZ2 Arcade series by Korean game developer Square Pixels.
The arcade rhythm game is the 13th version in the series, which started out as EZ2DJ. It was released in January 2016.
The idea of the game is for a player to use the pedal and turntable to DJ a song and earn points.
Players must press keys as well as operate the turntable and pedal. To earn points, the player must use the turntable and pedal in time and tune with the music notes falling from the top of the screen.
Notes fall down the screen towards a ‘judgement line’. Players must press keys corresponding to the falling notes as they hit the judgement line. When this is done, the groove gauge is raised and the combo continues. The longer the combo, the higher the score. For a miss or fail, the groove gauge drops and the combo is cut.
Additional scores can be achieved when players achieve certain marks. There are five standard marks: Kool, Cool, Good, Miss and Fail.
Features of Night Traveller:
The UI of all the screens in Night Traveller have been changed.
A tutorial has added to the beginning of the game.
A ranking view function and BPM display have been added to the song selection screen.
The rate system on the stage results screen has been reorganised.
New songs and skins have been added, the difficulty of some songs has changed and the sound balance of some songs has been modified.
Four new courses have been added: 5 key course, 7K, 10K (uses 10 keys, 1 turntable and 1 pedal) and 14K (uses 10 keys, 4 effect buttons and 2 turntables).
Night Traveller can also be played in modes. The game includes CV2 mode, which uses all keys, pedals and scratches.
You can specify options during a game by pressing the ‘effect’ button. Some effects include:
• Random/Mirror: An option to place notes at random or in reverse.
• Auto: Option to automatically play a scratch or pedal. If you use this option, you will not be able to register for rankings, and you will not get a scratch or pedal that will be played automatically.
• Note effect: Option to change the shape of the note.
• Bass boost: An option to amplify the bass.
• Speed: An option to adjust the speed at which notes fall.
