Laser Grand Prix is an animated laserdisc game with Grand Prix auto-racing. First the player must qualify for position by speeding down a 400-meter straight in the time trials of the preliminary Drag Race. Next comes the Grand Prix.
In the Grand Prix the player has 70 seconds to navigate hair-pin curves, brake, ease into bends and accelerate. Avoid collisions, spinning rear tires and engine backfire that will all use up time. The player is judged according to the quality of both driving and speed.
