Sangokushi Taisen Arcade Machine is a real time card action game which allows for networked competition with other arcade centres. Players must purchase a starter's deck of cards, which they can then use to play the game.
As a player places their card on the arcade table to make their move, the machine's sensors recognise the card and the troops in the game mirror the move on the screen. Player data is retained on an IC card, including ranking information.
A player can compete one-on-one against a person in their arcade or in another arcade and they are matched by the machine to someone with a similar strength. If there is no-one of a similar strength, the player will oppose the computer. The aim of the game is to defeat the enemy and destroy their castle.
The game is based on the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history and the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
