Speed King is set in Neo Kobe City, the setting of Konami's classic cyberpunk adventure Snatcher. The player's racing machine is a wheel-less hover vehicle that has an entirely different driving feel than ordinary cars. The vehicle is equipped with air flaps that tilt the car body on its side like a motorcycle so it can scream around even sharp corners for an overwhelming sense of speed.
