Time Crisis 3 arcade machine is the third installment in the Time Crisis series. Players are treated to longer stages than in Time Crisis 2 and a new Weapon Selection System.
With the new weapon change system, when certain enemies or background objects are hit the player will obtain new weapons. Players are now able to pick up weapons during the game and choose which weapon to use. The player is able to switch weapons by using a menu, which appears when pulling the trigger while hiding from the enemy (when the pedal is pressed). The player can change weapons by pulling the trigger again. The player can then continue the game using the new weapon. The weapons cycle like this hand gun - machine gun - shot gun - grenade bullets.
There are a total of three stages, which are each significantly longer in length as the previous games in the series. As in previous Time Crisis games, two players can play co-operatively. The basic concept and game system remains unchanged from Time Crisis 2, with the hit and hide system carried over.
Time Crisis 3 also has a detailed plot. Lukano, a small country facing the Mediterranean Sea, was under the crisis of the invasion of Zagorias Federation. The Front for Liberation and Independence of Lukano has been continuing tough battles against Zagorias Army.
Daniel, a young leader of the Front and an elder brother of Aricia, organized a special task force with some soldiers, his co-leader Jake and himself to confirm the existence of missiles and destroy them. They sneaked in the island but were caught by Zagorias Army. VSSE, anxious about the confusion of the world, decided to send two agents Alan and Wesley.
Arcade players also get to see Aricia Winstone (PlayStation2 Heroine). A soldier of the Front of the Liberation and Independence of Lukano. She started action by herself to rescue her brother. She will appear in the Arcade version and cooperate with VSSE.
